Treatments

What treatment actually feels like, how much filler you'd need, and how your first visit works.

Will I still look like me after treatment?

You will ALWAYS look like you after treatment with us — that's what we specialise in. We restore volume where it's needed and enhance what's already there rather than changing your face or making you look “done”. When it comes to anti-wrinkle treatments, we work to keep natural expression (no frozen foreheads here).

Our patients consistently describe the result as looking rested and refreshed rather than done.

Are the treatments painful?

Some of the treatments can be a bit “spicy” but most people find the sensation is brief, and the treatment itself doesn't take long. Numbing is available if needed.

If you are needle-phobic but really want treatment, we will work with you and work at your pace to get you to your end goal. We deal with lots of needle-phobic clients and they even return for more treatments!

How much dermal filler will I need?

As much or as little as it takes to get the best results for you. We look at the individual capacity of your face rather than working per ml of product. This is how we produce natural results every time.

For some people, this may look like 3ml across their entire face and for others it may be 9ml, for example.

Once we've assessed your face at the consultation phase, we will be able to tell you how much product we expect to use to achieve your desired result. The important thing to remember is you will still look completely natural regardless of the volumes we use.

Can treatment be done on the same day as consultation?

Usually, yes — most people go ahead with treatment at the end of their consultation, so it's one visit rather than two. However, if you'd rather take the details away and think it over, that's perfectly fine too.

We will only ever treat you once we've agreed a plan together and our visions are aligned. Sometimes we are unable to treat the same day due to certain factors in your medical history such as medications that are contraindicated with treatment. In these instances, we will discuss when treatment is safe for you.

Is dermal filler safe?

All injectable treatments carry a certain level of risk. What's important is choosing a practitioner that will always minimise the risk with safe practice and can deal with any potential complication confidently and competently. At Oriah, we discuss the risks in-depth before you go ahead with treatment so you can make a fully-informed choice. We will also be very honest with you about the complications we've run into in the past (because if you treat enough people, you will always get thrown some curveballs!) The good news is we have a 100% success rate in dealing with complications and we intend to keep it that way.

At Oriah, we are also very particular about our treatment selection. The reason we use hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler rather than CaHA or PLLA products is because HA is completely reversible. This means we always have a get-out-of-jail-free card if we run into complications or if you simply decide you want to dissolve your filler.

Results & What to Expect

Honest answers about outcomes, timescales and recovery.

Can I see before-and-after photos?

Yes — our Results page carries real patient photography so you can see the kind of change we're after before you decide anything. We will happily provide you with a copy of your own before and after photos too. We will never post your photos online without your explicit permission.

How long do results last, and how many sessions will I need?

Dermal filler: Results vary based on whether the areas treated require a “finer” filler or a structural filler. Generally, areas like the lips, tear troughs, nasolabial folds and marionette lines require a finer filler which lasts 6-9 months, on average. Most other areas are treated using a structural filler that lasts roughly 12-18 months.

Anti-wrinkle: 3-4 months

Skin Treatments: These usually require more than one session as results are buildable and regenerative. It's a little bit more of a “trust the process” situation when it comes to skin.

During your consultation, we will discuss your specific treatment and how long you can expect your results to last, as well as what you can do to maintain your results.

External factors that may affect the longevity of your results include exercise, repeated heat or UV exposure and metabolic rate.

Is there any downtime?

Downtime depends on the particular treatment you have. Most of our treatments have expected downtime ranging from 1-7 days. We will let you know exactly what to expect before you go ahead with treatment and provide you with any required aftercare.
